See in the middle there, that which looks like a lock? Well it is a lock. This antique Mercury racing engine has never been opened. So it was never modified. In fact, that day I took a pic and said I couldn't take pic's of where I was I actually was looking at rare cars as well as a collection of racing engines. This motor has a unique story. I will say this, the casing was never cracked open the serial number never removed and remains completely unmodified. This motor is a racing motor built to race in the 1950's on wooden boats used for hydro racing. And they were the fastest of their time.
