accident at 24th street bart

the elderly man in the distance being helped by two other people fell down the escalator from half way up as i was riding it up from the platform ... i heard a big crash and commotion and looked around to see him sprawled out on the metal steps with blood coming out of a gash on his head i pushed the stop button at the top and all the alarms went off and medics came running and helped him off to the ambulance that arrived very quickly shame ...the poor old chap looked very confused and fragile and shaken up ... it was a pretty shocking thing to see for all of us there ... just like that he could have died ... poor thing it reminded me of one night in seattle this summer when i was outside a bar with some friends ... a man was standing outside smoking when suddenly he fell over backwards and thumped his head so hard on the sidewalk that we all heard it clear as day ... then blood started pouring out from the back of his head me and a couple of others got him on his side and padded his head on a sweatshirt and called the medics ... it took a few minutes for them to arrive by which time there was blood everywhere again ... it was really shocking to see such things in such everyday circumstances
